Buzz the Fuzz

In February of 2014, Buzz was rescued from filth with 39 German Shepard doggies. Conditions inside the home were so horrific that the investigators and officers had to open all windows and doors in order to breathe. Buzz is a long haired cat, presumed to be a lynx point ragdoll.  Buzz was neglected. Buzz had to be shaved.  Watch his fur grow back with the #fuzzreport

Thankfully, CGHS took good care of him and was adopted after a few weeks! He was named after Buzz Aldrin & his buzzed hair do.  Now, he's rocking an amazing pad, with his new kitty sister Charlie, and new Mom.  It's out of this world!

After being adopted, Buzz adjusted to his new life instantly! He loves being pet and being the center of attention. He has helped spread the message of promoting animal welfare by attending NYS Animal Advocacy Day three years in a row, and messages like "Adopt don't Shop," "Adopt the Less Adoptable" and "older pets make great pets too!"

 

Unfortunately, Buzz's human Mama lost a friend from brain cancer, but got inspired at the same time, because as a long time cat lover, her friend Kevin, had a cat visit him... and it brought much joy to him and his family, and she thought, why can't Buzz do that? So, she took his memory with her and through the guidance of her friends Hudson and Gizmo got Buzz certfied as a therapy pet through Paws for Friendship Inc., and for about a year and a half Buzz was a therapy cat. He enjoyed visiting nursing homes, visiting at risk youths, being an advocate at events to help promote an end to animal cruelty and to ban declawing. But as he aged Buzz said, "Hey Mama, I'm getting old, time to retire!" So now Buzz lives quietly in his home with his Mama and sister cat. He still provides love and comfort to people through his Facebook page and writes letters though his PO BOX.
